Reflect Here

Hello everyone! We have created a page so that you can share your thoughts from week to week. We think it would be beneficial for you to reflect and list at least one concept or example that seems particularly useful to you in witnessing to pre-Christians. Our goal is that you would see our conversations and discussions reappear throughout the week as you go through your day to day routines. Happy posting :]

  1. This is almost a "ha ha" thing. We "found it", but we can't really say we "found it". Scientists to unveil evidence of 'God particle'

    1. The God Particle...
A misnomer if ever I have heard one.
Allow me to explain (as a student of physics) what the Higgs Boson actually is:
In so many words, the Higgs Boson is the particle that is what gives other particles mass.
To elabourate, it creates a field (all particles create a field) that is rather like water, which other particles have to 'swim' through and that 'swimming' determines how weakly or stronly interacting the particles are, and hence their 'mass'. Liken it to trying to drag your open hand, then your fist through water, you will find that you encounter more resistance with an open hand, than with a closed fist.
In the same way, all particles in the standard model interact with this fluid-like field in the same way.
Fox News is rather well-known for disinformation...
And this is a good example of it.

  2. So I just happened onto this video in the side bar of another video I had been watching. Dr. Gerald Schroeder has some pretty neat things to say. Schroeder touches on many questions that skeptics would ask along with many topics explored in Case for a Creator. This could be a good resource to have in witnessing to those with similar questions. I would love to write a blog post on this, but just in case I don't get to it I will leave this link of the video/transcription for you to view:

  4. I stumbled upon this and thought I would share. It might be a great way to start a convo with your sciency friends and family.

  5. I went to the Creation Museum in Petersburg, Kentucky (across the river from Cincinnati, Ohio) this summer. I thought it was very well done, high quality, and very scientific. It was a little pricey but I thought it was worth it. Here is is website: http://creationmuseum.org/
